Stage Craft for Students in Grades 3-12

This very exciting course - NEW THIS SEASON!! - will engage students in the basics of prop and scenic design! Students will learn about concept, artistic interpretation, visual art, and more! They will begin the year by engaging in a series of fun artistic hands-on projects that will teach them the basic elements of theatrical stagecraft. As the year moves along, students will work with their instructor to actually help design, build, and paint the props and scenery that will actually be used in our main-stage shows!!! Students in this class will also have the opportunity to assist backstage during our main-stage shows as members of run crew, props masters/mistresses, spotlight operators, and more! This course is open to students ages 8-18.

This class meets 31 times during the 2024/25 school year. There is no class during 3xP Show Tech Weeks, on national holidays, or whenever NYC public schools are not in session. No class on: 10/14/24, 11/11/24, 12/16/24, 1/20/25, 2/17/25, 3/31/25, 4/14/25, or 5/5/25. Students who are enrolled Stage Craft will most likely join us for Tech Week in the Theatre, depending on the needs of the show and the roles assigned based on student availability. A separate Tech Week schedule will be sent out to students for each show and students will be able to sign up for spots on the crew based on their personal schedules and availability.

I understand that this is a stage craft class, and NOT a child-care program. Students will receive high quality theatre-education classes from experts in their fields and will use equipment that requires absolute strict adherence to all safety protocols. Age-appropriate tools will be used in this program, and like all tools, these tools require users to adhere to sober and prudent care at all times. Triple Promise welcomes students of all experience levels, providing that they have a genuine interest in learning the art of theatre. Disruptive or unruly behavior of any kind is not tolerated for any reason. Triple Promise is not liable for any injuries resulting from a willful failure to follow safety protocols and instruction. Additionally, any deliberate failure to follow safety protocols or instruction will result in immediate expulsion from the Stage Craft program with no refund, pro rata or otherwise.
